This Roman Catholic Church was built in 1850 through the efforts of Rev. Bernard Mooney, the priest who was also at the centre of the Yelverton marriage. Originally there was a simple Mass House on the site. The church also contains the famous St. Bronach's Bell, which had been hidden for a thousand years inside an old tree and could be hear pealing on windy nights. It was only discovered when the tree finally fell. |
