Now a religious home for the Order of Our Lady of the Apostles, this house was also known as Carrick Ban, Rostrevor House and Topsy turvy. The latter name being derived from its mixed architecture. Sir John Ross of Bladensburg built it in the late nineteenth century. Under his direction the gardens acquired one of the finest collection of non-indigenous shrubs and trees in Ireland. |
